Christmas time is here. Indaculture has had many interesting December Shows. From the legendary Winter Solstice Bashes at the Fort, to our post Sandy Gramercy Theater romp, December has been traditionally fun. We are clearly a beach bum band in a beach bum community. Nonetheless, the holiday season is always a good time.
While the band does not have any formal gigs as a whole, there is a lot going on musically for the holidays (and new years eve is still up in the air). I will be updating the calendar with some December musical events featuring members of the band.
The Rockaway Mermaid Brigade has been asked to participate in the Rockaway Beach Tree Lighting Ceremony on Saturday Dec 3 on Beach 116 street. We will be singing two mermaid themed Christmas songs before the tree lighting. DJ PADDY TUBZ will help us turn up for this festive kid friendly event. Rumors are ablazin that it may turn into a Christmas Carroll Parade through the Rock. Kid friendly! Come and sing!
The Mermaids will also be teaming up with Bob Johnson and the Cabana for the Long Beach Christmas Parade. December 10th. Geoff has secured the vehicle, and some sort of incarnation of INDABUMPKIN will be formed for the float.
Bob and Phil will perform in a Jazz Christmas Trio on Sunday Dec 18th at 6pm. The band will reprise its take on the Charlie Brown Christmas Soundtrack, as well as other Christmas Favorites. You can reserve your table by calling Thai Rock. Phil's first time on the Thai Rock grand piano. Give it a listen
Last, but not least, Bobby and Jenna will lead the Second Annual Christmas Sing Along at The Bungalow Bar on Friday December 23 at 8pm. This event was a blast last year (this year it will not be encored at my apartment at 2am). Come celebrate the official start of the Christmas Weekend in style. Requests will be taken very seriously, and there will be no holding back.
