Its time to put summer to bed this Saturday at the second annual Poseidon's Parade. Here's what you need to know...
1. Parade begins on 106st at high noon. If you are marching show up at 10 to make sure you get a good spot, and to enjoy some breakfast at Caracas.
2. You must register before the parade online on the official Poseidon's Parade Webpage (wow what a page, wonder where they got their web designer?) YOU WILL NOT BE ELIGIBLE FOR JUDGING IF YOU DO NOT REGISTER IN ADVANCE!!!!!!)
3. Bring yo' kids, Bring yo' wife, Bring yo' pets. The parade has a wide array of categories ranging from best float, to best dressed pet, to best block, to best bar / rest. I have seen the ho'made trophies and they are a must have!
4. The Parade will conclude with a fair on Beach 95 "Plaza." DJ Kuff Daddy Dollars will be dropping bombs. Special guest MC Jimmy "St. James" Dowd will announce the winners. There will be activities for children and adults alike.
5. After the ceremony, Connollys will be hosting the official after party. The band will have guitars set up for an old school Indaculture sing along Jam. This will kick off around 5pm, and go until the "Prince Mermaid Manager" says so! This is the last weekend of Connolly's so come in and enjoy.
